Redefining the regional digital entertainment platform

Launched in 2017 by SVF Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Hoichoi is a global video streaming platform offering Bengali content. Aiming to expand on-demand video consumption, Hoichoi wanted to re-launch as a modern digital entertainment platform across web, mobile, and Smart TV apps.
Challenges
This project involved creating a unified workflow aligned with diverse platform guidelines for cross-platform consistency. Additionally, I had to redefine accessibility standards for regional OTT platforms to meet the needs of a global user base. I tackled these challenges with a product-centric approach prioritising functionality and user experience.
Defining the Goals
Initial research revealed inconsistencies in navigation and user experience across platforms. The lack of individual profiles within a single login lacked personalised settings. Users also had trouble finding essential content-related information. Based on these insights, I defined the following as the redesign goals

My role and responsibilities:
- Collaborated with a Product/UX Consultant to define project goals based on thorough research.
- Developed and implemented a comprehensive design system tailored to the unique guidelines of each platform.
- Solely responsible for all visual designs and prototypes, ensuring cohesive and high-quality outputs.
- Gained valuable experience in TV UI design, deepening my understanding of accessibility and interaction across various platforms.
